I have seen this place pop up on my Yelp searches for a long time. Decided to drive over from Vallejo for lunch. When I walked in I was greeted immediately. Place is well organized and clean. Decided on the Mongolian Beef lunch. It was REALLY GOOD!! Good flavor, good sized serving. Hot/sour soup was good. Also ordered Sui Mui. I was so full from lunch, I'm taking these home for a snack later tonight. I'd recommend you give this place a try, very good food. If the rest of the dishes are like the Mongolian Beef, I'm in for a treat!!

The nicest family Chinese restaurant. Food is excellent, staff is really kind. Best dim sum, despite it being a small selection. Tried many other dim sum places and I really keep coming back here for my favorites. Not overly modern inside which is nice. I don't mind a bit of old school restaurant ambiance.

We came by here after a bball game. The Martinez downtown has really become quaint and has a great small town feel to it. There are lots of restaurants to try and we decided on dim sum. We walked in and thought old school Chinese; Soy sauce and sugar bottles on the table. We were greeted and seated immediately. Lots of options on the laminated menu. We ordered the usual dim sum staples and added a shrimp chow mein. Food came out quickly. Dumplings were very good and had large and crunchy whole shrimp in the har gow and siu mai. The scallop dumplings were slightly over steamed which caused them to fall apart; the flavor was good though. The crispy fried chicken wings were a standout. Chow mein was good but on the smallish size. All in all, this is a good place for fresh dim sum in an old school setting.

Please read as 4.51. Aberdeen Café has been on my radar since Jana C .raved about it in her April 17th review. I respect her taste and when Kathy and I discussed lunch I suggested it to her. We came her today for dim sum. Kathy dropped me off to get seating then and then went to find parking. I walked in to the restaurant and was greeted then ushered to a table w/ menus and chairs. It was enclosed like a booth, separated from from the diners behind and in front of us along the west wall. There are additional tables up front and in the windows. There is no seating outdoors. Kathy joined me in a few minutes. We looked over the dim sum menu. They didn't have the baked BBQ pork buns I like, just steamed. Kathy likes them steamed so we got an order. We also got siu mai, har gao, scallop dumplings, Shanghai soup dumplings and shrimp and chive dumplings. We had a pot of jasmine tea to share, their only choice as far a I could tell. They brought us forks and napkins, and chopsticks when I requested them. The food was brought out hot in steamer baskets. Everything was freshly made. The steamed char siu boas were an the small side, which is a plus for me. Curious, I tried one and really liked it a lot. The filling was generous and flavorful. I was surprised and pleased. The various dumplings were tasty. I particularly liked the soup dumplings, which were excellent. The onlu thing I found disappointing was the siu mai, which didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting. When we had finished most of the dim sum Kathy ordered egg custard buns for dessert. We each had one and they were delicious. When I went off to the bathroom she had the leftovers packaged up and paid the bill. The bathroom was a single gender neutral one, all the way in the back on the left. It was immaculate. The restaurant has been open about a year. On the way home Kathy and I discussed it and agreed that the food was very good, but we missed having more vegetable offerings, like broccoli or stuffed bell pepper or eggplant. Hence the 4.51.

Although a 3 item dimsum order took half an hour !! Of waiting, and the order was $28 total, I have to say Gooooooood flavor and proper textures, salty, sweet-- in short, what we nibbled on in the sun, LEGIT if the little tease palate show I had was so satisfying, I'm sure there is a reason that promptly at noon, the banquettes and bar seating filled quickly...... If ever I am called to jury duty, for sure I'm going to try their $11.XX lunch specials! BBQ steamed buns Scallop dumpling Shanghai pan fried dumpling All dumplings eaten without soy sauce... perfect! PS Sooo Remiss of me to mention how generous the portions are-- dumplings and stuffed things have filling that is full and the cha siew bao had no fat inside the pork, and also was a full heaping of filling. SOO appreciate that and noted the sizes of dimsum items to be , on the whole, larger. Yay

Spicy but not too spicy osea perfection. The service was rápido. The veggies were NOT over cooked and soft. I mean all the flavors were there! The kitchen was very clean. That's my main focus. So I gave 5 stars.

Enjoyed dim sum at a quiet booth-like setup last saturday. Started off with spring rolls (from the appetizer menu). This was crispy but lackluster due to the thick skin and very ordinary fillings. Things improved with the bbq pork bun with nice authentic dough enveloping bbq pork. The taste of the pork was slightly strange, quite mild and lacked intensity but the overall dish was okay. Siu Mai had excellent pork/shrimp portion and tasted fresh and well-made. The bean curd skin roll stole the show with its abundance of wood ear mushroom, generous shrimp bits and pork. The outsized roll had good flavors and was really well made and above average. Tea is not complimentary. Service was friendly and rest room very clean.

We decided to try this place out and came in an hour before they closed (honestly we had no Dora!). But our server was sweet as she greeted and seated us immediately and got our drinks while we perused the menu. They offer a lot of Chinese food and some dim sum selections which we wanted to try out. We got some fried wontons, shu mai, lunch plates of lemon chicken for me and honey walnut shrimp for hubby. Both came with hot n sour soup which I really liked. Everything came out hot, fresh and quickly too. The portions were generous as we had a lot to take home for later but everything was so delicious. I didn't care for the fried wonton appetizer but I loved everything else! Definitely will go back and craving Chinese food and dim sum. Thank you for the great food and service.
